Ski-mountaineering is a wonderful sport
that tempers the spirit and the body over the vast white
stretches of snow vibrant with new and almost impossible
sensations. The Maddalene offer just the right atmosphere
for this special sport: a sombre, well-balanced and silent
landscape.
Their modest slopes and summits make these mountains immune
and detached from strenuous and extreme adventures and
remain so wonderfully free. Climbing these mountains at
times can be rather monotonous and laborious, and it becomes
difficult to find the right balance between the energy
spent in climbing and the gratification of a long and
welcome descent, but the sacrifice imposed by this exciting
discipline is well compensated by the satisfaction it
repays you with.
